The one-and-only complete illustrated guide to the over
300 souvenir spoons created by some of the most famous silversmiths in
the world! Out of print for over thirty years and increasingly hard
to obtain, "World's Fair Spoons" by Chris A McGlothlin offers
full-sized, quality photos on fine paper created to professionally highlight
the photos even more. Well known artists such as Tiffany, Oneida, and
Dominick and Haff share space with a dizzying array of creativity displayed
by artisans who are as yet "Unattributed." The dust jacket is in very good condition, while the 9 3/4 by 12-inch volume itself is in pristine condition. Bound in Burgundy leatherette decorated with gold type, Hand-signed by the author, "World's Fair Spoons" is itself a work of love and dedication that will offer the owner both a treasure store of invaluable information, and distinct reminiscence of an event and time which moved with exactitude and beauty.

The Columbian half dollar was the first commemorative
coin minted by the government. It was engraved by C.E. Barber, the designer
of the famous Barber dimes, quarters, and halves of the 19th century.
The ship on the reverse was designed by George Morgan, who used a replica
of the Santa Maria as his model. Shown here upside down--that's how coins
work--the Santa Maria was the largest of the three vessels . Significantly
wider and less agile than the Nina or Pinta, it was basically a cargo
ship.
