The "U.S. Govt Building" medal enjoyed perhaps
the widest distribution of the fair. Three of the bronze types are offered
here. All have been carefully polished to capture the look of the medals
in original presentation. Hairlines have been carefully avoided, but
they are cleaned, and beautiful. The hue of each is original, from a lighter to darker brown/gold. Finely wrought detail on obverse, text on reverse. (3 available!) Eglit. 23, HK154 $49.95 ea, plus $4 S/H, |

A birdseye view of the exposition is presented through a curved lens on this "Worlds-Fair Souvenir" (Eglit 214) medallion. Like many Expo medal types, it's made of aluminum, which had been recently discovered and was the latest metalurgical rage. On the reverse Columbus and his crew span a globe measured with longitudinal and latitudinal lines, celebrating their arrival in the new world. Each side of medallion is slightly convex. In original condition, 1-1/2 inches diameter. $119.00, plus $4 S/H.

Near perfect condition distinguishes this Glass Hatchet/ Paperweight made by Libbey Glass Company for the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. Front side of blade includes a raised bust of George Washington and the words "The Father of This Country". Rear of blade has raised lettering reading " World's Fair 1893". On the handel, lettering says "Libbey Glass Co. Toledo, Ohio". Measures 8" L x 4 1/8" W (hatchet blade portion). The axe edge is smooth, no chipping, while the hammer end has a minor chip on bottom of the handel, that doesn't detract. The very top of the handle above the blade is a little uneven, but it's not pronounced and may be the result of an uneven finish in its manufacture. Perfect gift for office display, or a collector.
$129.00, plus $8 S/H.
